The port of Koper in Slovenia has
set a new record by handling 900,000 vehicles this year,
exceeding the previous record from 2022 by nearly 100,000 units,
according to the Slovenian news agency STA. This increase in
vehicle throughput is exceptional, even when compared to major
car terminals throughout Europe, according to the port's
operator, Luka Koper, in a press release issued on Friday.
"The results in the vehicle segment are exceptional, even
when compared to major European car terminals (Valencia,
Antwerp-Bruges)." We achieved one of the highest growth rates in
this commodity group, according to available data," said the
operator of the country's sole commercial port.
According to Luka Koper, the port performed excellently in
all commodity segments and areas of operation, with outstanding
achievements in the container, vehicle, and passenger terminals,
as well as the liquid and refrigerated cargo terminals, where
the port saw the highest ever recorded throughput volumes.
