The possible candidacy of antifascist
Ilaria Salis, on trial for attacking neoNazis in Budapest, in
the June European elections does not change the government's
work, Premier Giorgia Meloni said after the EU summit Thursday.
She pointed out that she had already said that "the
politicisation of the affair does not help".
Il Foglio newspaper said Thursday that Salis, a 39-year-old
Monza elementary teacher, is set to run for the Green-Left
Alliance (AVS) but AVS leader Angelo Bonelli denied this.
