Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares said
after meeting trade unions that represent most of the carmaker's
workers that there had been "constructive dialogue" amid unions
fears of job cuts.
"In Turin and in Italy we feel at at home. We talk to unions
that represent 80 per cent of the staff, and we sign dozens of
agreements with them. It is a constructive trade union," said
the chief of the Italo-Franco-US manufacturer.
"Despite the fear of the unknown of some, the dialogue with the
unions was sincere, respectful.
"The unions have understood well that if we don't move away from
dogmatism we are going to trap our societies, we freeze them,
whereas if we recognise that there are problems to be solved
everything is possible,' stressed Tavares at the historic
MIrafiori plant in Turin.
